Omniverse Derived Cache (OVDC), formerly Derived Data Cache (DDCS), is a shared cache for derived data used by Omniverse rendering workloads. It allows clients to reuse generated data for textures, shaders, and geometry rather than repeating that work.

OVDC is a persistent, distributed key-value store backed by RocksDB, with configurable approximate-LRU eviction. Cached data can be evicted or lost, and the service does not provide strong consistency across writes. Applications must be able to regenerate cached data.

Product and artifact names

Starting with release 6.0.0, both the Helm chart and container repository are named ovderivedcache. They succeed the ddcs Helm chart and ddcs-dist-kv container used by DDCS 5.0.0. Older listings remain available for existing deployments.
