DPF System

DOCA Platform Framework enables the management of NVIDIA DPUs and the services that run on them at scale. DPF System contains the main system components for DPF.

NVIDIA DOCA Platform Framework

The NVIDIA® DOCA™ Platform Framework (DPF) is a Kubernetes-native platform for provisioning, configuring, and orchestrating NVIDIA BlueField® DPUs in cloud infrastructure. It helps operators manage the DPU lifecycle, deploy DPU software images, create DPU Kubernetes clusters, and run services on DPUs using standard Kubernetes APIs.

DPF includes controllers and operators for DPU provisioning, DPU service deployment, service chaining, networking, storage, telemetry, and operational workflows. It supports common deployment models such as Zero Trust, where DPUs are managed through BMC and Redfish with strong isolation from host systems, and Host Trusted, where hosts participate in the DPF management cluster and DPUs are managed as integrated acceleration resources.

Typical use cases include Host-Based Networking (HBN), OVN Kubernetes offload, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networking, SNAP storage, DPU passthrough, telemetry, secure time synchronization, and service-function chaining for advanced network flows. DPF is designed for NVIDIA BlueField DPUs and Kubernetes-based environments. Versioned release notes are available in the project repository.

The DPF System image contains the principle components of the DOCA control plane system.
